Go Go versus Go Slow?
Which are we? I haven’t posted much, because in comparision to many of our peer boats, I see us as Go Slow versus Go Go. We know folks that left 5 years ago, finished a circumnavigation, and sold their boats. Others, are taking the decision to either refit their original boats versus replace them with newer models. Just call me Pirate Captain Ninja
Fierce enough? Why one eye? I actually only have one fully working eye right now, as I returned to the US to have my fourth and final cataract surgery. In 2015, I had premium lens implanted (Technis multifocal IOLs) and while the vision was wonderful, they drove me crazy. Basically, my night vision was shot, with orbs around all the lights and all sort of other distractions as well by day. Modified fishing program
Heat stroke So, we overdid it. We caught six fish (black skipjack tuna and Pacific bonito) the other day. We kept three that day and were able to return three successfully to their habitats. But, I paid with heat stroke and a migraine for three days. double header! A passage later after a good rest, I set up a modified fishing program. One side only! My fancy Shimano combo with a 30′ diving Rapala Xrap and two teasers so only one side would need cleaning after the kill. Hoping for a mahi-mahi, Ken Karsten reeled in an 11 lb, 42″…

Antipoaching @Earthrace and attack dog We spent an evening chatting onboard with Captain Pete Bethune, Josh, and the rest of the crew on @earthrace. A friend made in Las Perlas, Ev (S/V Hanoah) had told us about a boat she had volunteered on the previous year, and it turned out to be the same. 2 hours to check out of Panama and get booster shots! 5 minute booster shots 1.5 hour check out Greeter dolphins Golfito, Banana Bay Marina Recently, every port we come to, we are accompanied by pods of dolphins, both spotted and grey. From Panama, our first stop in Costa Rica was Golfito, where we checked in with Gabriela at Banana Bay Marina. Can you believe that she is in email contact with the Port Captain from Panama, and they send eachother Zarpes (exit papers) electronically, when cruisers pass between Panama and Costa Rica!
