Church on Sunday

We went to Easter Sunday services the New Testament of God church in Port Antonio and boy was that an experience! We needed the entire afternoon to recuperate. The congregation welcomed each and everyone of us, giving us a wireless microphone to share our names and where we are from, so that if any church members saw us in town they could greet us properly. There was joyous singing and dancing, speaking in tongues, come-to-Jesus moments, a pastor who had the volume turned up so we could feel his sermon in our feet, people going up and down each of the pews anointing us with oil, screaming and crying. The service was extra long since there weren’t evening services planned going from 10 until 2 pm.Needless to say, it was a far cry from the structured, analytical, measured synagogue services we are used to. I’m quite glad we had the opportunity to take part, but I’m certainly would not be able to do this on a regular basis for sure.

  1. Dear Nina Happy birthday! Wishing you a wonderful day filled with wishes come true. I miss you but think of you often.

It sounds like quite an adventure in Port Antonio. Between movie filming and speaking in tongues you and Don must not have a dull moment. 😀

I imagine you must be busy and enjoying your travels. It seems your blog posts are a bit lighter this year than last. Hopefully you have had time to enjoy the experience and focus on family. You and Don look very happy and relaxed in the recent photos so I take that as a good sign.

    Love you and miss you!

  2. We really enjoyed our time in Port Antonio, though missed the church services…you all are truly open to new experiences! As a SAG member, I surely do wish they had been filming a Bond when we were there…I could have performed in it! Same thing happened in Greece, when I just missed being in CAPTAIN CORELLI’S MANDOLIN! Life surely is a matter of timing. Hope you have done the RIver Rafting excursion…Carlos was the Best for us! ALso really enjoyed visiting Noel Coward;s home FIREFLY,, DUNN”S FALLS and the great local food. (Jerk Chix, etc)
