COVID in Panama was the right decision
While we did travel throughout 2020 and 2021, we spend the majority of our time in Panama. Staying on our boat in both Bocas del Toro, Kuna Yala (San Blas), Linton Bay, and Shelter Bay Marina in Colon was the right decision. During both years, we became members of the Panama Posse and recommend it to all cruising sailors planning to sail Southern California or Annapolis via the Panama Canal and enjoy the Sea of Cortez.
We had a wonderful community of cruisers to pass the time with. Differences of opinions aside, we shared stories, helped each other on boat projects, swapped tools and expertise, reused and recycled as much as possible, and respected the waters of Panama by trying to leave a “clean wake”.
But, all good things must come to an end, and it was time to take the big plunge to the Pacific side of Panama.
Below are a few of the good bye pictures; some of them went missing and hopefully folks reading this might send me their pics over time.
Now through, we have set our sights on the Pacific coasts of Central America, passing from Panama’s Pearl Islands, to Costa Rica and then likely directly to Mexico.
