Sorry it’s been awhile since we’ve posted. We were doing some business travel in Singapore and had the opportunity to explore Tokyo as well.
Summer Plans
We just left Hampton, Virginia and are on our way to New England. Family and friends are encouraged to reach out to us and join us over the next two months, we’d be happy to see you!
We plan to spend Fourth of July with the kids and attend the longest running celebration in Bristol, Rhode Island.
Our ever-expanding arsenal of tricks include: fish identification book, fighting belt for Nina, fresh Cuban rum in a squirt gun, a big hammer, and fish scaling tool.
Ike Jime
When we were in Tokyo, we had the opportunity to visit Tsujiki, one of the largest fish markets in the world. We sat and watched the fishermen kill fish for quite some time. We realized, that even though Kosher slaughtering techniques are known for beef and chicken, there are no instructions on how to kill fish in a way that is most humane. We’ve ordered a Ike Jime spike but haven’t received it yet. More on the Japanese art of fish killing using Ike Jime later.
